Return of the Saint?

The legend of St Michaels is set to return but, what is it, why are we obsessed with the brand and why do you need to know all about it?

Over here in the UK we have a supermarket called Marks and Spencer. It’s at the top end of supermarkets with international equivalents being Coles, Macys or Nordstrom for our non-UK friends.

It’s where you go to shop if you want to splash the cash on a good quality. To me personally, especially growing up in the early 2000s, it's a place where well dressed old ladies with freshly rolled wispy hair live out their best life. Where in their younger yesteryears they had gorgeous high quality St Michaels outfits and homeware to last a life time .

Let's take a leaf out of their book and find out more about what we know of St Michaels and what we can expect of its possible return!

Clothing

St Michaels clothes offered both sensibility and comfort. I first noticed this with a
dress that had buttons from collar to hem, but once button in particular was different to the rest. Being much smaller it was a tiny pop button hidden on the inside of the waist. For such a minor detail it made the dress sit in a far more flattering way. Deep down, we all know it's TRUE use... you know, when you got the dessert you said you weren’t going to get and now there’s a little peep hole to your cute muffin top?
Some genius at St Michaels had our muffin tops at heart and just wanted us to look and feel our best.

I was surprised to fall in love with one piece in because it's
something I'd never have chosen myself, until I put it on. It's a cream woollen cardigan with golden buttons that's so warm and cosy while at the same time making me feel SO put together. The cardigan/jacket works so well with a variety of outfits, it's expanded both my wardrobe options and confidence. I’ve never been much of a fashionista but I do I feel precious about this piece, so that might change now I’m a St Michaels diva.

Here's my modern take on styling my new vintage fav!

Homeware

St Michaels created a vast range of homeware collections, made up of solid ceramic, earthenware and stoneware options. A notable is collection is
🍂 Harvestware 🍂

Full of warm tones, entwining brambles, and luscious berries that  ̷s̷c̷r̷e̷a̷m̷
gently whisper
autumn cosiness. You could truly go all out with the Harvestware collection since St Michael made absolutely everything you could possibly think of from slow cookers to spoon holders.

The cosiest butter dish that beckons warm autumn afternoons.

Return rumors

Back in 2021 M&S stated that it is not undergoing *an official relaunch* but rather enjoying the exploration of its archival elements. However the head of M&S menswear, has indicated that the company is actively experimenting and gauging responses, hinting at the possibility of a revival of the St Michael brand. 👀

There's a glimmer of hope that St Michaels will make a return, are you eager to see how it'll live up to it's previous legacy? What will a modern take look like?

Until then, let's cherish the memories and the incredible quality that St Michaels has brought. If you want great quality vintage that is going to stand by you through the test of time, invest yourself in anything St Michaels!
